The Origin

25 Years Behind the Chair

Over 25 years ago, long before barbering became mainstream, Chris began cutting hair driven by curiosity and a need to understand not just how hair works — but why. With no tutorials or trends to follow, every technique was learned through observation, experimentation, and refinement. That analytical, detail-driven mindset became the foundation of BT45.

BT45 was created inside the barber shop, shaped by real clients, real problems, and real results. After years refining technical skill and advanced education across barbering, hairdressing, colouring, scalp health, and hair loss - specialising in Tricology, Chris developed a clear philosophy:

Working with global brands including L’Oréal and Alfaparf, becoming a multi-award winning barber, and training barbers across the UK and Ireland, education and technical understanding became central to how BT45 approaches product development. Because better results come from deeper understanding.

Every BT45 product exists to solve a real problem seen daily behind the chair. Tested in working barbershops owned by Chris and refined through constant feedback, the range focuses on styling performance, texture, scalp health, and confidence, treating hair care as a complete system rather than isolated products.

The range was born from a growing frustration with major brands Chris had in store prioritising margin over quality and ultimately his customers were paying the price. Prices rose, innovation slowed down, and barbers were left trying to justify value that wasn’t always there. BT45 takes a different approach with products developed through real-world testing, refined daily on real clients, and built to solve genuine problems rather than follow passing trends.
